This book is an extensive, romantic ode to sourdough bread and bread baking as a whole. If you have ever found yourself drawn to transforming a shaggy mess of flour and water into a gorgeous loaf of bread, I know that you will enjoy reading this book cover to cover just like I did.

This cookbook contains in depth instruction for creating gorgeous loaves at home. It also is filled to overflowing with the inspiration to create a new loaf even if you are already an accomplished bread baker.

My sourdough starter Gus was created using the instructions in this book. My first loaf of traditional sourdough was baked using the instructions in the first chapter. The photographs of each step made it so much easier to follow along.

I appreciate that this book includes a collection of recipes that use day old bread. Those leftover slices of homemade bread are simply too delicious to go to waste!

Bookshop.org is an online shop that supports independent local bookstores. They support these stores financially in the hopes that they will continue to be vibrant members of our communities.
