This listing is for one of our new Farmhouse Aprons.  The body is made of camel brown medium weight cotton drill canvas.  The fabric has a tight weave, solid color, and a soft, brushed feel. It features an oversized pocket and straps in a contrasting print with a lovely coral bird with tan accents.

The first baker's dozen of our Farmhouse Aprons will be sold at a special discount. We're discounting them by $20 in order to give the first customers a chance to enjoy the generous savings and to encourage them to each take the time to complete a product survey that will allow us to better understand how they feel about the shape, fit, and finish of our aprons.  We'll use those opinions to make any final adjustments before adding the regularly priced aprons to our shop.

We can't wait to hear what you think of these aprons. More importantly, we can't wait to hear and see all about what you'll cook and bake while wearing them. We hope that you’ll share with us through our blog, Facebook, and Instagram.

Here at the farmhouse, I love to spend time cooking and baking in our farmhouse kitchen. While I’m good at pulling together a quick dinner or baking a dessert for a family celebration, I’m not always very tidy about it. Between my tendency to spill a little something on myself while cooking and baking and my love for all things associated with the kitchen, I have a collection of aprons at the ready in our Farmhouse Kitchen.

Each time I reached for one of my trusty aprons, I would wonder why I hadn’t designed my own. I had a firm idea of what I wanted.  My apron would need to be functional, comfortable, roomy, and full of that farmhouse style that I love so much.  When I set out to create an original pattern, I foolishly believed that it might be a somewhat simple project.

Nearly a year has passed since I began my quest to design an original apron pattern worthy of the Farmhouse Kitchen and your kitchen. After six revisions and dozens of aprons that didn’t make the cut, lucky number seven is the clear winner.

Our new Farmhouse Apron meets our lofty goals of being functional, adjustable, and one size fits most. It’s pretty but not fussy. It’s durable but comfortable to wear. It’s also filled to overflowing with the farmhouse style that I adore.

Our aprons are constructed of durable canvas material with pretty contrasting canvas straps and oversized pockets. The body of the apron measures approximately 35 inches wide and was designed to wrap around the wearer.  The center of the apron measures just over 30 inches long while the sides slope downward to a height of just over 25 inches.

The pocket measures around 15 inches wide and 9 inches deep and is divided into two equal sections. Each pocket is roomy enough to safely hold a printed recipe, cell phone, or other useful items. The pocket is fully lined, leaving no seams exposed. We’ve attached the pocket to the apron body using the same thread color on the body. We’ve also double stitched the pocket to the apron to increase its durability.

The straps are sturdy and constructed of four layers of the canvas print fabric. They measure just under 1 inch wide and are easily adjustable or removable. Each strap features an adjustable slide buckle to change the length from 15 inches to over 26 inches long. They have old fashioned silver suspender slips on each end. The suspender clips make it easy to disconnect them and adjust their position based on your preference. While we designed the apron to be pulled on and off over the head, you can easily use the suspender clips if you prefer.

Our Farmhouse Aprons are machine washable. They should be washed in cold water using gentle detergent. Bleach should be avoided. They can be tumbled in the dryer on low heat and ironed if desired. The nature of the fabrics we chose will ensure that they become softer with each washing. We recommend removing the straps before laundering to extend the life of the metal slides and suspender clips.

We also make custom aprons to order. If you have a particular color or print subject in mind, send us a message. Need a slightly shorter or longer apron? We’d love to hear from you so that we can work together to make something just right for you!
